Kim Ju-Dong
Abstract
Purpose: This study was designed to evaluate the disinfection effect after hydrogen peroxide and silver nitrate complex ( NOCOLYSE ? ) air spray in minor operating room for outpatients.

Materials and Methods: For this study, two kinds of culture medium were used : Trypticase Soy Agar(TSA) for total bacterial colony forming unit and Mannitol Salt Agar(MSA) for staphylococcus conony forming unit. Droplet airborne bacteria were inoculated on Petri dish, and surface contamination bacteria on Rodac plate by stamp method.

Results: In the evaluation of droplet airborne bacterial colony forming unit , the decreasing rate of front side of NOCOSPRAY ? was 95% with excellent results, but lateral side does not come up to the front side. In the evaluation of surface contamination bacterial colony forming unit, Mayo stand which was always draped during surgery showed the lowest colony forming unit. Then at the time of surgery, proper drape of surgical instrument helped the aseptic environment. The first measure to keep air contamination at a low level is to minimize the frequency of the use of
operating room.
